Balls and Hittin' on Women (Tomb raiding guide pt. 3)
Alright folks, this will be my next to last written guide for normal Tomb. We've done great so far, and will most definitely push forward to some of the later fights soon. With that in mind, here's Maiden of Vigilance.
Maiden (tier chest)- So this boss is sorta intimidating at first look. She doesn't really have many mechanics, however one of those mechanics require you to sorta kinda jump to your death to not kill the raid, let's talk about how to do that. When the fight starts, everyone in the raid will become either Fel or Light infused. Green and yellow, respectively. Much like a song from a band I hate, you gatta keep em separated. After you get you color, you will stand on the side of the boss with your tank of the same color. If at any point the two colors are mixed, say one light person walks into the fel group, there is a reaction that takes place. This causes everyone who touched the opposite color to get a bomb on them, this has the visual effect of placing a timer over your head. Now, when this happens, and it will happen, everyone with the bombs needs to wait until about 2 seconds are left on the bomb before it explodes, then jump into the hole in the center of the room. What happens then is the bomb safely detonates away from the raid and does no damage, and the blast throws you back up to the platform safe and sound. The boss has an ability called mass instability that assures that we will always have some people getting bombs regardless of if we are perfect with our placements, so everyone needs to know to do this. Tanks and heals included. There are two other "main" abilities Maiden will cast. These are Infusion and Feel/Light Hammer. Infusion is simply the ability she casts at the very start of the fight that assigns you your fel or light type. Periodically she recasts it, and makes some people switch sides. When she does this, if she changes your color, simply run straight through her and join the opposite side. There are a few seconds of grace that allow you to not instantly trigger bombs on your previous side/color's group. The other ability, the two "hammers" are simply tank swaps, but I felt it important to mention. The whole fight, outside the transition, you have to stay stacked on the tank of your color/side. The hammer ability she does hits one side of whichever type of hammer she uses( Light hammer hits Light side, etc) and does a ton of damage, split amount the people hit. So stay stacked. Easy as that. Now, onto her "phase 2". Technically, this phase is just a transition back to phase one, after it's over, we go back to doing exactly what we did before it. The transition starts by Maiden teleporting to the opposite side of the room and stunning us briefly. After this, she gains a large shield and begins to channel an air ability that does more damage the longer she casts it, and if she finishes the cast, we die. While she channels this balls of light and fell flow out of her in 3 rows on both sides of her. After we get unstunned, our goal is to get over to her and stack with your same color group as before. We will have markers placed just a little bit farther out than where these 3 lanes of balls spawn and travel. After we group up, we want to collect as many balls as we can, of the appropriate color. If you are in the fel side in the fel group, you only want to get fel (read: green) balls. Light side only picks up the light (read: yellow) balls. Each one of these we collect gives us a stacking buff for damage and healing. If you collect the wrong color, then you and everyone around you will get bombed and have to jump in the hole as before. This is of course bad as you then miss out on a lot of buffs. After we collect as many balls as we can and they stop spawning, we dps the boss as hard as we can and interrupt her aoe so it doesn't kill us. I'm currently leaning towards only having a designated person on each side grab balls during this, until we get the hang of it. It's really, really easy to mess up cause the balls move pretty fast. After her aoe is interrupted, it's just back to phase one. Rinse and repeat. That's the fight in a nutshell, when we get in the room and/or you watch videos you'll understand the craziness a little bit more! Looking forward to this one, it's a really fun fight ;P
TL;DR Stay with your fel or light group side stacked in the tank, do not mix color. Bomb debuffs jump into hole with 2 seconds left on debuff. Switch sides if your color is changed from infusion.
