A few words about the Discord rooms...
Hello again! It's your friendly, neighborhood tech officer again, here to give information and whatnot. This time, it's to relate the structure of the Discord rooms. Oh, joy!
We have 5 main sections for non-officers, plus 2 special sections. The main sections and their intended uses are:
- Social Rooms: These rooms are a free-for-all, and are intended for folks that like to hang out, don't mind anyone dropping in to say hi, and the like. Chatty Kathy's are most welcome here, and everyone in these rooms are encouraged to intermingle to their heart's content.
- Dungeon Rooms: Ooooooo...spooky. Well, not really. These rooms are intended for anyone in a party that need to communicate to get their stuff done. It might be labelled dungeon, but if you're doing anything with a group that requires communication with those folks and a minimum of distractions, this is the place for you. If you see a group in these rooms and you're not part of that group, please don't just drop in. They're there specifically because they need the room free of chatter to get the job done.
- Raid Rooms: These are specific to raids, but the premise is the same as the dungeon rooms. If you're not in the raid, steer clear. We separated them so that other groups could be formed and their intent would be clear to anyone.
- Meeting Rooms: These are specific to meetings for the Guild, such as raid meetings, officer meetings, Icon guild parties, etc. If you're part of the meeting, join the meeting in these rooms. If you're not, we again ask that you stay clear.
- PvP Rooms: Not surprising, these rooms are meant for PvP groups. Again, they are separate from the other groups so that you can tell, at a quick glance, what activity that group is doing. As is the case with the other rooms, if you're not PvP-ing with that group, don't enter.
The 2 officer's rooms are by invite only. Officers can pull you into the Officer's Lounge if they need to talk to you about something specific. You can't simply stroll in there, though, because there's a giant padlock on the front door that only opens if you're wearing the special officer's tattoo or brand (depending on your pain tolerance). Being a magical tech officer has its advantages :)
Poseidon is a room specifically for the Guild Mistress to have a special place to store her "training and re-tooling supplies". I don't ask questions, and I don't judge...
And there you have it. We broke the rooms out to specific sections. Please use them for their intended purposes. If you misuse the rooms, they get grumpy and their paint starts peeling in the corners, so I'll know straight away. And they can be a pain to cheer up. So please, use the rooms as they're intended to be used. Thanks.
